More than 95% of upgrading dealers stay with Pinewood

Dealer management systems provide Pinewood is claiming the industry's highest customer retention ratio - with nearly 95 per cent of upgrading dealers staying with the company.

 

This figure is around double that achieved by most DMS providers, according to research by Pinewood.

 

The dealers upgrading have switched to Pinewood's latest Pinnacle DMS from the previous generation CARS system. 

More than 70 per cent of the company's customer base is now using Pinnacle - a figure achieved within three years of the product's launch.

 

Introduced to the market in November, 2002 and still the only browser-based, web-developed DMS available, Pinnacle is now in use by more than 280 of Pinewood's 400 dealer customers.

 

Pinewood sales manager, Geoff Miller, said: "When dealers decide to upgrade their DMS, around half get rid of their existing supplier, so the figures that we have achieved here are, we believe, very impressive. They show the basic strength of our products and customer service standards.

 

"It is also pleasing to see such a high proportion of the total customer base now using Pinnacle. In industry terms, this has been a very rapid product migration."

 

Pinnacle is believed to be the most advanced product of its type on the market. It was developed with the objective of allowing dealers to access new technology that is enhancing customer service levels in other retail environments.

 

Miller explained: "The dealers who have adopted Pinnacle have at their disposal a set of tools that enable them to build much closer and flexible relationships with their customers.

 

"With the new car market entering a tougher period, many dealers tell us that Pinnacle is enabling them to maximise the sales opportunities that are available to them."
