An instant car look-up feature is now available for Pinewood’s Pinnacle dealer management system.
By typing a car registration into the system, Pinnacle will automatically draw details from DVLC data – including the make and model, colour, VIN, and last change of ownership.
Neville Briggs, Pinewood's managing director, said: "This provides all kinds of advantages for dealerships. Firstly, they will be able to spot any irregularities with vehicles being offered for sale or booked in for servicing straightaway.
“Secondly, this method means that the data being entered into the DMS is more likely to be accurate, reducing the chances of basic details, such as the VIN, being recorded incorrectly.
“Thirdly, it allows much faster speed of data entry for dealership staff when they are facing or calling a customer.
“We believe this to be a unique feature that is not yet offered by any other dealer management system supplier.”
