Pinewood reports increase in dealer user numbers during last 12 months

17 March 2010

Dealer management software specialist Pinewood has reported that user numbers have continued to grow during the last 12 months despite the recession.

The company said that new deals with several major dealer groups had seen the company continue to expand despite the tough trading conditions seen across the DMS market.

Neville Briggs, managing director, said: "We are very pleased with this ongoing growth. Our strategy through the recession has been to give customers more for less, providing them with the tools that they need to fight the downturn."

Briggs explained: "Many of our customers had been paying for a third party VHC system that did not interface with their DMS. We saw a route to save them money by including a productive, comprehensive VHC tool within their DMS for free."

Also, Pinnacle had continued to win new customers for Pinewood thanks to its pay-as-you-go charging model.

Briggs said: "Our web-hosted, PAYG per user method of charging for the system has meant that even during the recession, dealers wanting to change their DMS have been able to do so with minimum upfront cost."

"We have entered 2010 in very good shape and are cautiously optimistic about our prospects to continuing growing user numbers in what continues to be a tough DMS sector."
