Pinewood announces Windows 7 compliance ahead of October launch

26 August 2009

Dealer management systems specialist Pinewood has announced that its products are compliant with the new version of Microsoft Windows - Windows 7.

Set for an October 22nd launch, Windows 7 has been available to Pinewood for testing for some time thanks to the company's Microsoft Gold Partner status, which means that it is given access to new Microsoft products early in their development.

Neville Briggs, managing director, said: "Over the next couple of years, Windows 7 is likely to become a very widely used operating system by dealers and it is important that there are no teething problems when it is used with our Pinnacle DMS.

"We will be looking to exploit some of the features offered by Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8 to bring about new improvements for dealers in the performance of Pinnacle."

Key new features of Windows 7 over previous versions of Windows include an improved interface, faster start up times, better troubleshooting and enhanced hardware support.
