Trainee Sales Executive

Pinewood Technologies is currently searching for an ambitious and enthusiastic graduate to join the team and train to become a New Business Sales Executive. Working within a team of experienced sales professionals you will become responsible for sourcing and generating new business for Pinewood.

Through on-the-job training, you will gain a solid understanding of the Pinewood sales process and play a vital role in selling our award-winning software solution – Pinewood DMS.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Becoming an expert on the features and benefits of our DMS, so you can map them against the needs of our customers
  • Carrying out regular market research and building a solid understanding of the franchise car market share and trends
  • Managing our database to a high degree of accuracy- ensuring all data is cleansed and kept up to date
  • Assisting the team by identifying new business opportunities
  • As your skills develop you can also expect to join the team in visiting potential customers, delivering presentations, and preparing customer quotations

About you

This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent Graduate to develop a long-term sales career with an industry-leading software provider. The ideal person for this role will be a natural people person, with an ability to build strong working relationships with both customers and colleagues across the business.

You will also need:

  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to understand the needs of the customer
  • This is a fast-moving and target driven environment, so a positive can-do attitude and a results-driven mindset are a must
  • Experience working in a customer-focused role
  • Experience working in a similar position, through an internship or placement year is desirable, but not essential
  • Educated to degree level, preferably in a business-related subject- 2:1 and above
  • A clean UK driving license and a willingness to eventually travel for the role
  • An eagerness to learn

Pinewood Technologies is currently searching for hardworking and ambitious graduates to join our Business Graduate Scheme in 2022.

As a Business Graduate at Pinewood, you can expect to receive on-the-job training, mentoring throughout, and the exciting opportunity to develop your commercial experience.

Your career will begin as a Customer Support Consultant, where you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers are getting the most out of our industry-leading system, Pinewood DMS. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting our clients with any training needs, guidance, and troubleshooting any issues they may face.

Alongside this, you will progress through the Pinewood Support Academy. Here you can expect to build your knowledge on the system, the automotive retail sector, and develop a broad range of skills to support your long-term career development.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Communicating with our customers via phone, email, and webchat
  • Providing a first-class customer experience, and ensuring all queries are dealt with professionally and in a timely manner
  • As your knowledge grows, help maintain our internal and external knowledge base
  • Progressing through Pinewood’s Support Academy to further develop your understanding of the DMS and our customers

The Pinewood Support team plays a pivotal role in ensuring our customers are always taken care of. The knowledge you gain in this position will make you a valuable asset to other teams around the business.

Upon completion of the Pinewood academy, you will become eligible to progress onto opportunities with other teams, including:

What can you expect?

We offer lots of support and training, as well as a structured learning plan to ensure our graduates gain the skills they need to succeed. You can also look forward to:

  • A 5-week business induction and training schedule- develop your knowledge of the system and gain important skills for your role as a Customer Support Consultant
  • A structured learning plan alongside your job, to ensure you are continuously developing your professional skills
  • Side projects such as presentations and dealership visits to support this learning
  • Peer to peer learning and continuous support from a mentor

The ideal person for this role will be a final year student or recent graduate, with an interest in working in the technology and/ or automotive industry. You will be highly motivated and have the ability to take initiative and work as part of a team.

You will also need:

  • An education to degree level in a Business or IT related subject – 2:1 or above
  • Previous experience in a customer service-related role would be desirable
  • To be a people person, with an ability to build working relationships with clients and stakeholders across the business
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the capacity to think on your feet
  • To be a team player and have the capability of working towards collective goals
  • A willingness to learn and deepen your knowledge of our enterprise-level system
  • Any knowledge in accounts is beneficial but not essential
  • A full driving licence, OR be working towards passing a driving test

Working hours are 37.5 hours per week on a three-shift rota (7am – 3:30pm / 9am – 5:30pm / 10:30am – 7pm). Occasional weekend and Bank holiday work is also expected on a rolling shift pattern.
