BTEC and Degree level opportunities in software development
Here at Pinewood, we are committed to the long term growth of our development team, investing heavily in our staff training. We currently offer two schemes for apprentices, depending upon your educational level and understanding of software development. Both programmes are structured to include time spent at local educational institutes, as well as on-the-job training.
BTEC Level 3: Software Development Technician
Delivered by South City and Birmingham College
Within your Level 3 apprenticeship, you will gain a great understanding around the fundamentals of development, whilst working under the guidance of our experienced development professionals to gain real world experience. This is an 18 month course, equivalent to A-levels upon completion. Once qualified, our Level 3 apprentices will then be eligible to progress onto the Pinewood Degree apprenticeship programme, subject to their grades and performance.
Degree: BSc Digital & Technology Solutions
Delivered by Aston University
The Degree level apprenticeship is a qualification, encompassing Levels 4, 5 and 6, allowing you to gain a deep understanding of software development and the principals of computer science. This is a 4 and a half year course, in which you will work as part of an industry leading software team, as well as attending a highly ranked university to get the best training available. We work in partnership with Aston University – Find out more about this course.
Both of our software development apprenticeship programmes are based at our Birmingham office.
